Casa de la Villa used to be the Town Hall of Madrid during medieval times. Constructed in 1696 to hold the council meetings once the capital of Spain changed to Madrid from Toledo. Remodelled in 1789, the Casa de la Villa is decorated with frescos. You can only visit Casa de la Villa through guided tours.
