San Pedro Basilica was constructed during 120 years as the central point of the Christianity. Consecrated in 1626, exactly 1,300 years after the consecration of the original basilica. San Pedro Basilica is an impotent monument and beneath the basilica is the Vatican Grottoes, a Renaissance crypts containing papal tombs. According to the legend, St. Peter is buries in the Necropolis, under the Vatican Grottoes.
