Mostar is the most important city in Herzegovina region on the southern of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located on the shores of Neretva River, Mostar was named after bridge keepers (mostari) who guarded the Stari Most (Old Bridge) during the medieval times. The Stari Most has built by the Ottomans in the 16th century ans is an iconic Islamic mark in the Balkans. Mostar only has train to and from Sarajevo but you can catch a bus to Dubrovnik.
