Eger is an historical city in northern Hungary. The Eger castle has an Gothic episcopal palace and ruins of the Romanesque basilica inside the castle walls. This combination of ruins from different ages is an example of Eger importance through the ages. Eger also has thermal baths and the northernmost Turkish minaret in the world (from the Otoman Empire).
