DESCRIPTION

Belgrade is the most important city in the Balkans. Its strategic location, where the Sava and the Danube rivers meets, has been fought for millenniums, by the Romans, Thraco-Dacians, Byzantine, Otomans and the Austria-Hungary. Through the centuries, Belgrade has been razed to the ground 44 times and battled over in 115 wars. Nowadays, Belgrade still has Soviet traces from Yugoslavia and the modern spirit of Europe, a fantastic combination of cultures.
