After departing from Weimar for political reasons, Dessau-Rosslau was home of the Bauhaus between 1925 and 1932. This period was the most creative period of the Bauhaus movement, and Dessau is a mecca for architecture and design students worldwide. The former University designed by Walter Gropius and the Bauhaus Private Houses are an amazing legacy that should not be missed.
