Casa de Serralves built in the 1930's is one of the best examples of Art Déco in Europe. Casa de Serralves has a fantastic park perfectly designed according to the house architecture and its surroundings. In 1991, Portuguese architect Siza Vieira constructed the Serralves Museum dedicated to Contemporary Art, the most important museum north of the Tajus river.
