Cadeia da Relação (Jail of the Court of Appeal) was constructed in 1765 was a court and jail for the monarchy dissidents. Numerous Portuguese personalities where detained in this building, such as Camilo Castelo Branco, that wrote Amor de Perdição in this building. Nowadays, the Portuguese Photography Center is located in Cadeia da Relação, which hold fantastic exhibitions all-year around.
