Trier is Germany's oldest city is landmark of the Roman Empire, with the Porta Nigra (Roman Gate), the amphitheater, the roman thermal baths and the Imperial throne room. Trier also has the oldest bishop's church in Germany which is on of the biggest pilgrimage sites in Central Europe because it holds the Holy Tunic of Christ.
