Ara Pacis is an Augustan altar piece erected in 9BC after Emperor Augustus impose peace on the Roman Empire. Ara Pacis is a a simple alter with four marble walls that was marvellously carved with friezes hailing the emperor. After being destroyed, Ara Pacis was pieced together in the 20th century in a fantastic exhibition centre.
