Shoes on the Danube Bank is a Jewish memorial consisting on statues of 60 pairs of empty shoes on the shores of the Danube river. This memorial was constructed in 2005 in honour of the Jews shot into the river by the group Arros Cross during WWII. People tend to forget that most European governments condone with the Nazis on the Jewish persecution.
