Commissioned in 1605 by Henri IV, Place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in Paris. The garden is surrounded by red brick building with arcade facades. The park and the buildings are just magical. Maison de Victor Hugo, the former house of the writer is located in the square and nowadays is a museum dedicated to the writer.
